The Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation has received a generous donation from the Georgia Health Foundation to support child safety initiatives for families in need within Cobb and Douglas Counties. The funding will benefit Safe Kids, a vital program dedicated to preventing and reducing accidental injuries to children through education and the provision of safety equipment.

“Since 1985, the Georgia Health Foundation has worked to improve the health of Georgians by supporting local nonprofits. This latest contribution helps us further our mission of fostering health and safety in communities across the state. We are pleased to support the Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation and Safe Kids to provide children’s safety equipment and education to families in need” said John Stephenson, Executive Director of the Georgia Health Foundation.

The Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of Cobb & Douglas Public Health which is the lead agency for Safe Kids Cobb County and Safe Kids Douglas County. These funds will directly support education and safety equipment in areas such as home safety, child passenger safety, poison prevention, water safety, pedestrian safety, fire safety, bicycle safety, and youth sports safety.

Lisa Crossman, Executive Director of the Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation, expressed gratitude for the donation “We are so very appreciative of Georgia Health Foundation’s commitment to the Cobb and Douglas communities. Their tireless work to improve residents’ health across our state enables us to expand our efforts to keep children safe and reduce preventable childhood injuries.
